Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most. For anything else, our team is available 24/7.

Program & Structure

Structured sober living provides a higher level of accountability than traditional sober living. At Vitalis, that includes random drug testing, twice-daily breathalyzer screenings, weekly house meetings, and active participation in a recovery program — all designed to support individuals as they build sobriety and transition toward independent living.

We prioritize safety, structure, and a supportive recovery environment in all housing arrangements. Couples are housed together in the same room and are typically placed in one designated home alongside other couples when appropriate. This allows them to remain supported within a structured recovery setting while still maintaining accountability and community expectations. In our co-ed homes, residents are always placed in gender-specific rooms to ensure privacy, comfort, and a recovery-focused living environment for all individuals.

Yes. All approved pets must be fully vaccinated, including up-to-date rabies vaccinations, and must be house-trained. A pet fee is also required.

Orange County is home to one of the largest recovery communities in the country, with thousands of weekly AA, NA, and other 12-step meetings. We help residents find meetings that fit their schedule and recovery needs.

Admissions & Costs

Prospective residents must be committed to sobriety and willing to participate in our structured program — including testing, meetings, and house guidelines. We conduct a brief phone screening to ensure our program is the right fit.

Structured sober living is a transitional living arrangement and is typically not covered by insurance. We offer competitive rates and will discuss payment options during your consultation. Please call 657-776-2078 for current pricing.

Most residents stay between 90 days and one year. We recommend a minimum 90-day commitment to establish a solid foundation, but the length of stay ultimately depends on each person's progress and goals.

Daily Life

Residents have the flexibility to work, attend school, or participate in outpatient treatment during the day, alongside house responsibilities, meetings, and recovery activities. Curfews are in place to provide structure and safety.

Absolutely. We encourage residents to maintain or pursue employment and education as part of building a sustainable life in recovery, and our team can help connect residents to local resources.

We have structured visiting policies that balance privacy with the importance of family and social connection. Approved pets that are fully vaccinated and house-trained are welcome with a pet fee.
